HKABA-SA Chapter won the Grand Achievement Award this year!! Well done to you all!! This Award gives us a solid recognition and encouragement to all of you with your endless time and tremendous contribution to our Chapter.I truly thank ALL of you and I’m proud to have such  a wonderful team to work together.Excellent works!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank:

HKABA-SA Chapter Business Awards 2012

On 10 August 2012, Hong Kong Australia Business Association South Australian Chapter’s annual Business Award Gala Dinner was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The Business Awards is in its 9th year and celebrates South Australia’s outstanding businesses and individuals who are helping to build a closer trade and investment relationship with Hong Kong and China.

The Hon Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia, delivered the keynote address for the gala dinner to over 300 guests, who were also entertained throughout the night with fashion parades and live music.

This year, the Business Awards saw a 25 per cent increase in the number of nominations with 20 finalists selected for the six award categories. Two new categories were introduced this year to reflect the business relationship between South Australia and Hong Kong: Contribution to Financial and Professional Services and Young Professional of the Year.

Judging panel for this year’s award comprised of the following members, who had a challenging time deciding on winners due to the calibre of nominations.
•    Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia and Patron of HKABA-SA Chapter
•    Mr Stephen Yarwood, the Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Adelaide and HKABA-SA Chapter Ambassador
•    Mr Francis Wong, Chairman of the Council of International Chamber of South Australia and HKABA-SA Chapter Adviser
•    Ms Jane Yuile, Chair South Australia, ANZ Bank
•    Mr Graham Wakeling, Publisher and Managing Director of in-Business magazine

The 2012 Business Awards was supported by ANZ Bank, Shingleback Wine, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, and Invest Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Children Orchestra

HKETO organise HK Children orchestra to come to Adelaide and having a martinee Concert at the Elder Hall on 22nd July 2012.There are more than 500 people attended.
The children are the young artists were truly inspirational  and a delight   and their aged is from 10 to 19.
The audience is amazed with musical skill and talent and they all feel that the concert is a real treat for the Sunday afternoon.
The concert is also the celebration of HKSAR 15th anniversary.

Confucius Institute Seminar

The Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide Seminar
We are continuing sponsoring Confucius Institute for their China Briefing series.
On 11 July 2012,the topics of “China’s Economic Growth, Energy and Environmental Sustainability” attractive app. 50 people to attend the seminar.
They have allowed  our Trade Mission Executive,Mr. Mike Higgs to present out Trade Delegation packages to the audience and later to have a business card draw for a cricket cap which is donated by
Mike Higgs’ company. There creates a lot of interest from the audience about HKABA.
Good works from them.
